There was not much to commend this hotel.

It was run down. Our curtains were hanging off the rail. The pool was out of service and not very appealing at all. It was okay for a one night stop over...........

  • Family with children
    5.0

The double room was large and roomy, there was plenty of storage space and a great flat screen tv

The curtains were starting to fall off, it could have been cleaner, air con was quite noisy, it was also a good walk from the center.

Hotel location was great, it was 1 block from the Save on Arena and very close to Chinatown. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the price was reasonable and the outdoor pool was a hit with the kids!

  • Older travelers
    8.2

We appreciated the modern king sized bed in an older-hotel atmosphere with its elegant touches and architectural features, the presence of couples and young people from various countries who were staying there, the relative quiet throughout the hotel, the parking for disabled right next to the front door, (important for us, but there was only one disabled space and we were always nervous that someone else might have taken it when we went out) and the availability to us (unexpectedly) of open support group meetings that were happening on the main floor. The room was clean upon arrival and each day the maid service was friendly and efficient. We appreciated finding a place in the heart of the city where we could feel safe as well as near the 'action'. Thank you.

As above, there was only one disabled parking space next to the door, and disabled people might be required to walk across a busy street to park. Also, the pricing policy was confused; we thought we were entitled to a free continental breakfast but were told that as we had booked online we weren't eligible for that. It wasn't a matter of the cost but the confusion that led us to eat elsewhere.

The location was great and the price was good. It was nice to have an outdoor pool with poolside service. However, the hotel was kind of dumpy and they were doing construction on hotel which was very noisy.

    Cleanliness.

    The room was fine.

I expect to have breakfast within reach of my motel rooms wherever I stay. I was dissappointed not having my breakfast!

Better not book the Capital City Center Hotel. They just moved us to a different hotel. That one wasn't bad, but one of the draws of Capital City was the pool and the place didn't have one. When we arrived it was 6pm everybody, we were 3 adults and 3 children, was tired so we didn't argue, but we weren't happy.

  • Older travelers
    4.6

There was nothing I liked about this hotel. The rooms were small, lamps that didn't work or weren't replaced, old furniture and guestionable guests or "tenants".

  • Group of friends
    5.8

    Price.

Noise from road. Noise from other guests. Being ear plugs I was ok after putting them in. Also light fixtures missing from 2 areas in room, wires hanging from holes in ceilings. Bout 2 star but clean enough.

  • Group of friends
    4.6

The very late shift guy was very helpful and nice, but the guy who checked us in during the day was a douche. Very unwelcoming feeling.

The rooms look like they're falling apart.

The hotel location was just right however...

The room was quite noisy due to a) renovations going on in other rooms that started at 7AM and b) the howling and yelling until almost 2AM from a kereoke bar nearby.

  • Single
    8.2

Location, professionnal staff, very clean room (king room), comfortable bed, all services: iron, TV, cafe machine. Sometimes, offers promotion

No breakfast, quite expensive for students

  • Couple
    8.2

It was inexpensive without being seedy or run-down; an efficient way to stay in town.
